Abstract EN

This is a poetic reading into the “event” Syrian crisis and a tracing of its repercussions on architecture as a profession so that it interacts with this event in a creative way, producing substantial qualitative solutions that confronts the crisis.

The Manifesto, a convenient tool used by architects in extreme cases, is adopted here as a container, mold and vehicle for this reading.

This Manifesto is qualified by the term “ascending’ to denote a reversal of what is called here the “fall” caused by the crisis.

Further, the text supported by an illustration that explains a sort of a cosmologic image of the unfolding of the proposed reversal scheme of ascension.

In fact, the text could be considered as a commentary reading of the diagram.

The roots of the illustration lies is in the mediaeval European and old Arabic manuscripts that depicts a special conception of the universe which divides it into hierarchic spheres starting from earth and making its way upwards towards the heavens and Paradise in particular
