Abstract EN

The literature books are valuable sources for studying Islamic history in all its phases, for they provide various historical information for all aspects of The life.

These literary works mix between high literature style and the historical review filled with the originality and innovation.

We preferred to study the narratives which tackle the financial aspects in the Thamar al-Qulub al-MuL&af wal- Man sub (The Fruits of Hearts), by A1-Tha'alibi (d.

429 A.

H/ 1037 A.

In part one, we studied A1-Tha'alib/s life and his scientific stature.

In part two, we studied the salarics, grants and livelihoods, in which wc tackled more than ten narratives.

In part three, we shed the light on A1-Jizya (poll tax) and A1-Khiraj (land tax or tribute).

The historical narratives in the literary books are short and brief, so that they are far from being boredom, and they arc provide the historian with rare information that could not be found in other books of history, or perhaps there is some of them in the folds of these books.
