Abstract EN
The recognition in recent four decades that expectations are extremely important to economic decision making has led to a major revolution in macroeconomic analysis.
The Rational Expectations Hypothesis (REH) developed initially by J, F.
Muth (1961) has played a critical role in this revolution, this hypothesis assert that individuals do not make systematic mistakes in forecasting the future.
This study focuses on the test of the Rational Expectations Hypothesis in macroeconometrics models, by testing the rationality of consumers, case of: householdin Algeria during (1980-2015).
Specifically the study will test the Rational Expectations-Permanent Income Hypothesis (RE-PIH) introduced firstly by Hall, R.E.(1978) in his approach called “the forward expectations”, and secondly by Flavin, M.A.(1981).
The rejection of these two approach models will lead to the rejection of the Rational Expectations Hypothesis.
