Abstract EN

This study aims to highlight the importance of the adoption of the Corporate Governance Charter principles by small and medium-sized Algerian enterprises and to underline the role played by governance to support their continuation and growth.

The study concluded that most of the small and medium enterprises in Algeria suffer from the problem of survival and continuity and the inability to face the challenge of growth due to financial difficulties and their bad relations with the banks, as well as the financial and administrative corruption of managers.

The result was the failure of many enterprises because of their non-compliance with the rules of good governance
