English Abstract
This study aims at shedding light on the reality of the tourism sector in Algeria and highlighting the obstacles and hindrances that stand in front of its advancement and development.
In this research, we adopted the analytical descriptive approach to describe and diagnose the indicators of the tourism and travel sector in Algeria and compare them with the indicators of the neighboring countries of Tunisia and Morocco.
We found that the tourism sector in Algeria is weak and far from the tourism sectors of the neighboring countries.
It faces great constraints, including the lack of investments in infrastructure and basic services, and its development needs a long-term view that is part of the economic development process.
