Abstract EN
Compliance with and the need to consolidate respect for core human rights standards in Europe has been entrusted primarily to the Council of Europe.
In his Inaugural Professorial Lecture, Dr Drzemczewski—whoworked at the Council of Europe from 1985 to 2016—provided an insider’s critical appraisal of how the organisation, and in particular its two statutory bodies, the Committee of Ministers and the Parliamentary Assembly, have taken up this challenge.
