The Character from the Theory of Receiving's Perspective : "Hilm Laylat Dam as a case study" Criticism has followed many ways to enlighten the text, some of which were psychological, others went deep through into the feelings of the creative writer that could match his aims .There were social ways as well and some other ways which were particularly limited to the text, like structuralism and formalism and many others to set out other curriculum that gave back to the reader his lost power to reproduce meaning such as semiotics ,the rhetoric of reading and the theory of receiving where the means of creat different corner .The theory of receiving has worked out to express the techniques in which the reader could understand the character in a literary work and the ways to make it acceptable .

So, what is the concept of character from the perspective of receiving and how Abdel Majeed Shakeer depicted the characters of "Hilm Laylat Dem" and what was the privacy of character in this play.

To answer these questions I've chosen my research subject : The Character from the receiving perspective" by Abdel Majeed Shakeer as a case study ,where I followed two methods for analysis; the theoretical part in which I followed The Analytical Critical Method to see the changes that occurred on the concept of character from the receiving perspective whereas in the practical part ,the interpretative method has been adopted which enabled the reader to reproduce the text from a large scope.

Then the study ended with a conclusion.
