Abstract EN

The contribution of Abu Abdullah Al-Sharif in the scientific movement in the western part of the islamic land was shown through a manuscript: "the virtues of Abu Abdullah al-Sharif and his two sons Abdullah al-Gharik and the saint Sidi Abi Yahia Abdel Rahman" by the writer sidi ahmed ould sidi abi yahia bin Abi Abdullah al-Sharif who died in 895 ah / 1490 ad.

he was the grandson of Abu Abdullah al-Sharif who died in 771 ah / 1369 ad.

in his manuscript, he featured the biography and showed the virtues of his grandfather, Abi Abdullah al-Sharif, from his original growth and scientific formation; then his scholarly achievements.

he also wrote about his journey to Tunisia and fez, where he was honored by high ranking and acknowledged by the scholars of the Islamic west.

moreover, the sultans of Bani Marin and Bani Ziyan competed for bringing him to their scientific councils.

the manuscript deals also with his scientific contribution to teaching, writing and intellectual blooming in the cities of the Islamic west.

this manuscript is considered as the main source on which books of biography relied on, and afterwards, translated into other books all of which the witnessed highness and scientific superiority of Abu Abdullah al-Sharif in the western part of the Islamic land.
