Ibadism (al-Ibāḍiyyah) was interested in boosting education through propagation of Islamic sciences and encouragement of manuscript writing.
Education and the system of Azzaba played an important role in preserving the Ibadiya doctrine in Djerba and in other Islamic countries.
In this article, our interest is on a manuscript entitled “Ethics of the Scholar and of Education Seeking "by the scholar (Faqih) abū ar-rabī` sulaymān Al-Mozati Al-Gabsi (died 1079) .The manuscript is available in the Barouni Library in Djerba (Tunisia) under No 88-2 2.
