Tourism has become an important resource that requires attention and development.

in order to promote this sector, Algeria has embarked on preparing a huge strategy known as the national plan for tourism development.

this research paper sheds lights on this plan and its mechanisms followed to develop the tourism sector and attract to uristic investissement in algeria.

a descriptive analytical approach has been followed through describing the outline of this national plan and its mechanisms, in addition to analysing the reality of tourism and touristic investissement under this plan as well.

the study concluded that despite the enormous tourism potential available in Algeria and the adoption of short and long term plans and strategies marked in the national tourism development strategy for the 2025 horizons, the expected efficiency of this sector has not been achieved in terms of tourism revenues, employment opportunities and contribution to the GPD.
