The editing of texts (manuscripts) is a religious, scientific and ethical responsibility; so the worker on manuscripts must be aware that these texts are historical documents which he can’t manipulate or change what is written.
The scientific responsibility obliges him to edit these texts as they are, without any change.
The Muslim scholars had established many precise rules, they wrote many books relating with this subject.
One of this books ( اإللماع (of al Qadi Ayyad.
This important includes many rules which are important in editing texts.
This book is not the first in his field, it is preceded by many others, like (المحدث الفاصل و الكفاية و تقييد العلم و جامع بيان العلم)
