The relations between Spain and the Ottoman Empire in the Mediterranean basin constituted an important stage in the Muslim-Christian conflict, which was led by the Ottoman Empire in the East and the Spanish Empire in the West to dominate the Mediterranean.

This conflict emerged significantly during the 16th century, which is undoubtedly the century of great transformations.

This is what we will study from the point of view of the French historian Fernand Braudel, the latter whose view of the conflicts in the Mediterranean was worthy of attention.
