Abstract EN

This paper deals with the religious elite in Algeria which constituted three different ten dances that are distinguished in both conception and methodology.

These three schools give birth to three religious discourses.

1-The sufi discourse which has become, because of the intervention of the French colonial administration, a sect like discourse (torouqui).

2-The official religious discourse represented by official mosques under the authority of colonial administration (17 may 1851 decision).

3-The reformist religious discourse represented by group of young scholars who returned from Arab countries and convinced by the eastern religion doctrines.

These three discourses dealt with the missing links of identity: religion, language, culture, history, race.

The historical context (colonization and alterity)has entered a crisis and crossed several steps which effected the religious discourses which has experienced exceptional circumstances with the French administration: -Phase one: the selective period of the religious discourses (1925-1930).

-Phase two: the structuring period of religious discourse (1931-1945).

-Phase three: the conflict period of religious discourse (1946-1953).

-Phase four: the necessity of unifying religious discourse (1954-1956).
