Abstract EN

This article attempts to analyze the social performance of Algerian SMEs, The problem of this research addresses the extent to which the latter complies with social responsibility and what are the areas covered by this responsibility in these institutions.

In order to answer this problem, a questionnaire was designed and distributed to 95 small and medium enterprises active in different sectors of activity in the state of Ouargla.

55 questionnaires were retrieved and the necessary statistical tests were conducted using SPSS version 20.

The results showed a good and acceptable understanding and an attempt to implement social and environmental responsibility in these institutions through the adoption and commitment to social responsibility, especially social responsibility towards the workers, and to a lesser extent the community and the environment, because the latter is an additional cost to limited funding sources, On the other hand, The study also showed a correlation between social responsibility and the sector of activity and the absence of a relationship between the adoption of social responsibility and the size of the institution
