Abstract EN

The Medina of Tunis has continued to progress after being marked by the vestiges of colonization.

The complexity of the influences of different civilizations has formed the population of the Medina of Tunis.

A city of art is born.

Indeed, it is not a question of the origins’ history of the various artisanal products, but of explaining the symbolism that can preside over the creation of the various handicraft products in the interurban spaces of the different "soûqs" of the Medina of Tunis.

This artisanal product witnessed long stories and Tunisian artistic heritage.

In this context we will try to follow the evolution of the image of the artisanal product in a general way through some significant references.

It is through a certain type of material and immaterial language that an artisan can achieve the conception of a product in coherence with the way of life, the socio-cultural, economic and technological environment of a social community.

This social craftsmanship is considered as an actuator of social innovation that contributes to the emergence and evolution of a new form of life.

The craft of a craftsman is centered on sharing, participation, autonomy and co-design.

This gives it an important function for the transformation of the public space and the attitude of the user in his practices and his environment wherethe artisanal product and the social relations of his production will be jointly produced
