Abstract EN

The study aimed at exploring the life skills needs of students at Al – Isra'a university, and whether the variables of : gender, college, academic level, place of living effect their needs.

To achieve the aims of the study valid and reliable scale to measure the life skills needs questionnaires of the university students was constructed by the researcher , it was applied to a random sample consisted of(40) items divided on five fields : identity , health , social relationship , economy and technology , environment .

( 410) male and female student chosen from all colleges with different academic level in Al –Isra'a Private university during the first semester at the academic year 2006/2007.

After the questionnaires were administered the data were summarized and analyzed using descriptive statistics ,T-test and MANOVA .

The result showed that students at Al –Isra'a University needs life skills related to different fields such as : identity , health , economy and technology , social relationship , environment, in addition to the results indicated the means of needs for female students were greater than male for all fields except environment , and there were no significant differences among needs due to variable of gender ,and the means of needs for scientific colleges students greater than humanistic colleges students , and there were no significant differences among needs due to variable of type of collage , and there were no significant differences among needs due to place of living .

the means of needs for students who were living in the city greater than students who living in the villages, and there were no significant differences among needs due to academic level for all fields except social relationship in favor of the fourth year then the first year.
