Abstract EN

Since pragmatics, in its general challenges, is based on the idea of functionality, and special kind of communicative and informational aspects, this article focuses on a Sufi discourse that has cognitive, intellectual, philosophical and linguistics elements that makes it compatible with the nature of pragmatics.

To elaborate on this theory, the researcher chooses Ibn Arabi’s “The Commandments,” which include the ideas and beliefs of Sufism, which are mainly in line with many of the Sufi beliefs advocated by the Pragmatics theories.

This led us to apply several pragmatics procedures on some of the texts that we derived from the Book of Commandments and doing comparative pragmatics taking so, we come up with justification for this kind of intersection between contemporary discourse and Sufi discourse.
