Fatimids ruled their State in Egypt under the slogan of affinity to prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him and his offspring) bom from Fatima and her husband, Ali (peace be upon them).

Fatimids were holding a lot of religious services reminding other of their affinity to Ahl-albeit as a reaction to those who suspect their relation to the prophet .One of these liturgies was being held during Moharran (Ashoora) by wearing special clothes indicating sadness and crying as well as mourning with psalms.

They also highlighted the position of imam Hussain (peace be upon them) and presented a variety of food signaling their sadnees .A lot of processions and corteges appeared in the Cairo streets crying and mourning mesmerizing the crisis of Ahl-albeit .This tradition lasted till the end of this state .
