Abstract EN
The Arab Island societies were accustomed to a number of jobs and professions which were practised by inhabitants of cities.
It was the need of the civilized societies which led to the emergence of such jobs.
This was proven by the existence of varied trades.
A profession is to get money and it is the way of obtaining returns through practising.
Before the Islam, the Arabs considered prastising a profession as something shameful which was restricted to slaves and servants only, despite such view, many Arab gentlemen were practising specific professions before and after the Islam.
Examples of such gentlemen were: Al-Halik bin Amru bin Ased bin Chuzaima who was a blacksmith from an Arabic origin and Umaya bin Khalaf who was famous of dried mud processing.
Among the most common trades were carpentry, weave, goldsmithing, blacksmithing, leather processing.
This research aims at analyzing what is mentioned in the Torah as far as jobs and professions are concerned depending on the Arab resources.
Also, it aims at classifying such jobs in order to understand each one clearly.
The researcher hopes that the present research has not been studied before.
