Abstract EN

This article aims to study the impact of trade openness on the inflation in Algeria.

for this purpose, we used the autoregressive distributed lags (ARDL) model by relying on annual time series data covering the period from 1990 to 2016.

The Bounds test indicated a long-run relationship between the study variables represented by the consumer price index, money supply, trade openness.

The empirical results also show that there is a positive and significant effect of money supply on inflation in the short-run and long-run, as for trade openness, it has had a negative and significant impact on inflation, but this effect is stronger in the long run, which confirms the existence of Romer’s hypothesis in the case of Algeria
