Iran targets an increasing regional role through its foreign policy, as it owns a unique analysis of the international community, which enables Iran’ decision makers to change tactical objectives of FP along with tools.

As such that FP is actually bearing in essence the national interest, but its appearance is about supporting the issues of the region.

Strategically, Iran mixes its national interest with its ideological background, based on the principles of the revolution, which sometimes overlap with the national interest of Iran and sometimes clash with it.

Given the nature of the Iranian political system, an analysis of Iran FP should consider decision making/makers and strategic culture.
