This study attempts to examine the different ideas expounded by the ancient Arab critic and especially the aesthetic foundations considered as important bases on which this discourse was established.

Because the majority of our critics have given importance to the image and the form of the poetry which was an artistic production whose value rested on the linguistic form and on the artistic work, created by the artist, and not around an abstract thought.
