Abstract EN

This study aims to define the concept of inflation targeting (it) policy especially Taylor rule as a framework for a modern monetary policy, which resulted in the emergence of new ideas for the makers of monetary policy at the central bank, we tried to apply the traditional and augmented Taylor rule on the bank of Algeria using generalized method of moments in the period from 1994q1 until 6142q4.

the study found that the augmented Taylor rule (forward- looking) apply on the central bank's behavior by focusing on the main objective of monetary policy represented by target inflation provided techniques of inflation forecast, as well as the high degree of transparency and credibility in monetary policy framework.
