Abstract EN

Quality in e-learning is highly important.

If quality is a prerequisite for the success of the educational process in general, it becomes indispensable for e- learning in particular.

The success of any educational system relies to a great extent on the commitment to the global quality criteria.

In e-learning, the quality of the provided programs and its assurance is an additional and new challenge to e-learning at Dammam University.

Ignoring such a challenge will produce weak e-learning programs.

Therefore, The current study sought to build a proposal model to measure aspects of quality and standards in the system of e-learning and distance education programs at Dammam University in two main aspects as follows: (Input quality; Process quality).

A list of quality criteria has been formed including seven aspects of quality, eighteen criteria and seventy nine performance indicators.

An assessment scale was designed to assess aspects of quality including a relative weight and a certain rating for each criterion.

The current study recommended to use quality criteria and its KPIs when designing e-learning and distance programs at Dammam University.

It also recommended training teachers on how to use these criteria and KPIs and keep regularly reviewing them.
