Abstract EN
The study aimed to get acquainted with the degree of applying the criteria of comprehensive quality in managing the academic departments at Al-Istiqlal University in the domains of the study.
The researcher used the descriptive methodology.
He used the questionnaire as a tool for collecting the information.
The researcher chose a comprehensive sample from the population of the study whose number was (40) members.
The study concluded the following results: 1.
The degree of applying the criteria of comprehensive quality in managing the academic departments at Al-Istiqlal University was middle.
2.
There are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (a=0.05) in the mediums of the responses of the individuals of the sample on the degree of applying the criteria of comprehensive quality in managing the academic departments at Al-Istiqlal University according to the variables of the study (gender, academic rank, experience, and specialization).
Among the most prominent recommendations by the researcher are the following: 1.
The participation of the members of the teaching staff when putting the development plans for the departments.
2.
Providing a clear and documented description for the authorities and the responsibilities for all the academic cadre in the department.
3.
Providing rehabilitation programs to prepare the new members of the teaching staff in the strategies of teaching and evaluation.
4.
Taking care to discuss with the members of the teaching staff about how to develop their professional performance and the opportunities of job promotion.
5.
The academic departments should adopt mechanisms for cooperation and partnership with the institutions of the local society
