The study aimed to identify the level of emotional intelligence dimensions among gifted and ordinary students in light of the classroom variable in Ajloun Governorate in Jordan, and the extent of the difference between the two categories of students.
The study population consisted of all gifted and ordinary students in the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth classes.
Sample has been taken randomly to represent the study population as follows: 20 students of 10th class, 23 students of 11th class and 16 students of 12th class.
A tool was developed to measure the level of emotional intelligence dimensions for gifted students and ordinary in the classes (10, 11, and 12), and has been applied on the study sample after verifying the validity and reliability of the tool.
The results showed statistically significant differences due to the class variable in all fields of study with the exception the field of (hiring emotions to facilitate thinking).
The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences for interaction between the two variables the group (gifted- ordinary) students, and the classroom (10, 11, and 12) in all fields except the field of (emotions understanding).
The results showed that the mean scores for gifted students at all emotional intelligence dimensions level scale and the total score were higher than the mean scores of ordinary students group.
The study recommends the need to strengthen the application of emotional intelligence mechanisms among students, through providing training programs and educational strategies for all students in all educational stage, and conducting studies and researches which is related to the current study variable and associate it with other variables.
