The study aimed to explore the level of knowledge of secondary schools science teachers of the philosophy of science and its relationship with some variables, such as Gender, specialization and years of experience and Their teaching performance.

A random sample of(68) secondary school science teachers were Selected , researcher followed the descriptive analytical approach, so a philosophy of science understanding test, were designed from (30) questions, and teaching performance scale, which reflects the level of understanding of the philosophy of science, were designed too.

After data collection and analysis results showed that the level of understanding of science teachers to the philosophy of science is very low, as it is not linked to the gender of the members of the sample, and the years of experience, while the results showed that there were statistically significant differences at the level of their knowledge of the philosophy of science related to specialization, in favor for physics, and significant differences in favor for Chemistry compared majoring in Life Sciences .The results showed that the level of teaching performance, which reflects the understanding of philosophy of science, has been low, and substandard also pointed out that (44.1%) of the respondents engaged in opinions and beliefs traditional ( Logical Empiricism ) school in their teaching, while (47.1%) of them practicing the beliefs of the two schools of logical Empiricism, and Recent libral View, while the (8.8%) of the respondents practicing the beliefs and opinions of Recent libral View school.

The study recommended the need of organizing training courses to improve secondary schools science teachers knowledge of the philosophy of science, as recommended the need to develop teacher training programs at universities to include courses in the philosophy of science.
