Foreign Direct Investment is a vital source of economic growth, brings a capital investment, technology, knowledge and skills.

This study aims to examine the positive impact of foreign direct investment on economic growth in Algeria.

has adopted a number of policies and reforms in various fields to attract foreign direct investment into the country has also provided attractive investment opportunities to improve the foreign investor’s vision.

Due the nature of the subject, the analytical inducative approach was based on a note of the results of fluctuations in the volume of its inflows to the host country and what it then affected the local economy.

the quantitative approach was used in the standard study to establish the relationship between foreign direct investment and economic growth in Algeria using statistical software Eviews7.1.

The rate of gross domestic product, real effective exchange rate, exports, imports, the rate of FDI flows, credit to private sector, all variables explained proportion to GDP.

We used a multiple regression model a least squares using annual data from the world banque during the period 1992-2010.

Based on this, we concluded that the variables that explain growth rate of gross domestic product, imports and the rate FDI inflows were positive and statistically significant impact on the weak growth in the Algerian economy.Exports and real effective exchange rate was statistically significant negative, credit to private sector were negative and statistically significant
