Abstract EN

This study attempts to analyze and determine the nature of the relationship between civil society and democracy in the Arab region, democracy as a governance mechanism based on respect for the choices of civil and social forces, and civil society as a social actor framing social movements, but this relationship seems more Complex in the Arab case because of the absence of a true democracy allowing the birth of civil societies independent of the state .

This complex relationship between civil society and democracy in the Arab region was one of the most important reasons for the need to research this subject, which raises many research problems not only at the level of practice but even theoretically.
