Abstract EN

This study aimed to investigate the most important academic and administrative factors affecting scientifc output at higher education institutions in the Sultanate of Oman.

The study was carried out on a sample of 714 researchers and academics.

An analytical descriptive approach has been employed due to its appropriateness for the study objectives and questions.

A questionnaire was employed as a tool for data collection.

Results showed that the average of scientifc output is high among PhD holders and less signifcant among individuals who have lower educational level.

It was also found that the average of scientifc output is high among individuals who have the highest academic rank of “professor” and have the job title of a “researcher”.

However, this average is less signifcant among individuals who have lower academic ranks and other job titles.
