There are four elements making narration:characters, time, place or space and the narrative function.

The time and the space are the most important… I devoted this study to the time and the space in "The book of sand" by the Argentin writer Jorge Luis Borges, I started by an introduction, I showed the importance of time and space in general.

I divided it into two elements, I first dealt with the use of time in the "Book of Sand".

I have treated as a second element the connotations of space in the same corpus.

I arrived to the conclusion that both narrators have used several temporal techniques, and two kinds of contradictory and complementory space
