Abstract EN

The objective of the present research was to investigate the effectiveness of the six hats strategy in the development of conceptual understanding of the bio-ethical issues among female students of the third secondary grade in Riyadh city.

In order to achieve the research objective, the researcher applied the experimental method, it has been applied to a cluster random sample of female students of the third secondary grade, Numbered (55) student included two groups, the control group, with a number of (28) female students and experimental group, totaling (27) female students.

Where researchers prepared a list of search tools moral issues bio, testing included the six aspects of the conceptual comprehension (explanation, interpretation, and application, making a system, affective involvement and self-knowledge).The researchers used (T-test ) of the two independent samples to study the differences between the experimental and control groups and Eta square test to study the effect size of the six hats strategy in the development of the conceptual understanding of bio-ethical issues.

The research findings have shown that there are statistically significant differences at level of (α ≤ 0.05) between the average degrees of the experimental group female students who studied bio ethical issues by using the six hats strategy and the average degrees of the control group female students who studied by using the traditional method of the total score of conceptual understanding test of the bio ethical issues in the post application:.

Holding training courses for teachers to train them on how to employ the six hats thinking skills in the teaching of biology course, and the statement of effectiveness and advantages in understanding and deepen development.
