Abstract EN

This study aimed to reveal the relationship between social phobia and university adjustment among Hashemite University students, in addition to find if there are differences between student’s levels of these two variables due to gender and specialty.

The study sample included 800 male and female university students ,456 males and 344 females, Students were distributed students according to scientific specialty amounting (377) and (423) of humanities specialty.

To achieve the study objectives social phobia scale and university adjustment scale were used.

The study results indicated that social phobia level among students was medium that is (54.6%), while university adjustment level among students was also medium by (56.6%).

Results also indicated that there is of correlation statistically significant between social phobia and university adjustment at the significance level (0.05≥α), and no significant statistical differences between students (male and female) in the level of social phobia and university adjustment, and the results showed no significant differences between students with scientific and literary specialties in the level of social phobia and university adjustment.
