Abstract EN

Considering the role of economic and social insurance, the control and supervision of this activity is necessary to preserve the rights of the insured and the stakeholders as well as maintaining the security and stability of economies and societies.

Indicators and path of insurance activity supervision and control differ from one country to another depending on the size of the sector transactions, the number of people involved and the degree of openness to global economy.

We aim through this research to demonstrate and analyze the adopted indicators in control and supervision exercised by the empowered authorities with the course of this process.

It should be noted that the insurance sector has undergone several important stages in its development and underwent a range of regulatory and legal reforms which went along with the economic reforms followed in each stage.

We concluded in this research that the insurance supervisory committee focuses considerably on solvency and the latter has neither the authority nor the substantial independence that allow it to function properly.
