The cargo handling contract is contract resulting from the execution ofthe maritime transport, bay performing this Contract, goods go through different stages starting with the reception of goods by the carrier on board of the ship, till unloading goods and releasing them to the consignee or his legal representative.

The operations of harbor handling are carried by specialized contractors having their own cargo handlers and their own handling equipments.

The contractor is chosen by the carrier or the shipper or the consignee to carry out these operations carried out by the stevedoring company.

The handling covers taking goods on board; stowing, undocking, disassembling, storing or removing cargo from the warehouses and storage areas, the operations of harbor handling represent the material actions and they are realized by virtue of a contract which stipulate a payment, these operations is preceded by the completion of some administrative procedures and filling of forms.
