The political irresponsibility of the head of state is one of the principles enshrined in contemporary constitutions, however, the foundations of this principle are distinguished, depending on the nature of the political system in place, in a parliamentary system based on duality of the executive, the role of the head of state is reduced to representative missions, facing a government that exercises real executive powers, and assumes full political responsibility, in a presidential regime, characterized by a reciprocal independence between the legislature and the executive, the head of state exercises sole executive power, but his political responsibility can not be questioned by parliament.
