Abstract EN

The objective of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of a proposed training program to help mathematics teachers acquire some of the active learning skills and improve the achievement and attitudes of their students in mathematics ,In order to attain this objective the descriptive and experimental methodologies were used, where the study was applied to two sample ; The first sample was made up of professional formation teachers (15) a training program about active learning ; their prior and subsequent performances were measured by means of the teacher performance observation card for the acquisition of active learning skills.

The second sample was made up of students (271) who attended the training program and who were taught by means of active learning and who then underwent an achievement test along with the attitude measure towards mathematics prior and subsequently.

There were statistically significant differences at the level of between the averages of the mathematics teacher performance on the active learning skills performance measure before and after being exposed to the proposed training program and in the favor of the dimensional application.

There were statistically significant differences at the level between the averages of the performances of the students in the prior and subsequent performances of the achievement test in favor of the dimensional application
