The present study aims to identify the impact of teaching using self questioning strategy on the development mathematical problems solving ability among students in the fourth year at the middle school.

to achieve the purpose of this study, we used the experimental method: (experimental group - control group design) (53) students in the fourth year at Rahim Mohammed school at meftah in Blida who were divided into two groups: an experimental group of (25) students studied according to the strategy of self-questioning, and a control group of (28) students studied with the old way.

the test has been built to solve mathematical problems.

after the statistical analysis, the results showed that teaching using self questioning strategy affects the development of mathematical problems solving ability among students in the fourth year at the middle school.
