Bribery is one of the most serious crimes since it carries the meaning of trading in the public service and makes it a means of illegal gain at the expense of the equality’s principle between equal legal status and the proper functioning of the public utilities of the state.

hence, it is classified by the legislator within the crimes of corruption in the law that prevents and eradicates corruption in addition to imposing rules of criminalization, follow-up and punishment.

accordingly, this research is an attempt to examine the extent of their effectiveness by highlighting the general provisions of this crime in the first section and the provisions of criminalization and punishment in the second section.

it also submits suggestions in the conclusion.
