Abstract EN

Reason occupies a distinct position in the Islamic thought in the Maghreb, with all its different aspects and implications.

Maghribi intellectuals established a distinguished theory of reson and founded the category of Ijtihaad on mental consideration and solid legal basis.

This research comparatively tackles the thought of three Maghribi pioneer thinkers in this field, namely Ibn Hazm al-Dhahiri, Ibn Rushd al-Maliki and Abu Ya'qub al-Warglani the Ibadi.

The research seeks to capture the foundations of interaction and integration between these three thinkers and tries to demonstrate that they have established their ideas on the same premises and built their views on the same basis and they have similar terminologies and theoretical framework.
