Abstract EN

The objective of this research is to identify mentally retarded people capable of learning and to propose a training program on the basis of competences of autonomy within the framework of an adaptive behavior measurement in its original version conceived by the American society of delayed mental (AAMD) translated and adapted by Farouk Sadek.

the sample is composed of seven mentally retarded individuals, aged 8-12 years.

we followed a pseudo-experimental approach in the analysis of independence skills.

the results demonstrated the effectiveness of the training program in improving the level of independence skills and which allowed the acquisition of some principal competences to interact in the daily life.
