The present research aims to show the importance the competency of a faculty member as the core of the educational process and the pivot to achieve the objectives of the university, the researcher used the descriptive approach and then he reached many results and recommendations : the followings are the most important results : 1.
the standards of specific quality in higher education, and guarantee the achievement of the university's goals, closely linked to the standards related to the quality of the faculty.
2.
performance efficiency of the faculty member is measured through a set of criteria including: the scientific production of the faculty members and their availability to the university work, the professional development, and the teaching efficiency of the faculty members3.
that the problems facing university education are those related mainly to the members of faculty, their testing, roles, duties and preparation, their teaching and researching concerns, and evaluating their performance, 4.
ensure the quality of education includes the achievement of learning outcomes that can contribute effectively to the development process.
