Small and light weapons’ proliferation can be considered as a new theme in security studies .

such interest comes from the fact that these arms constitute a source of threat to the international peace and security, this is why it has increasingly been discussed and scrutinized after cold war era.

in fact, small arms proliferation remains one of the difficult obstacles in front of peace building after internal armed conflicts management, because they don’t only feed the ongoing conflict, but they also have the ability to push to waging of new ones.

for this reason, the focus must be on the demilitarization of such societies in the aim of fostering peace building process which can really endure.
