The AIDS is a world-wide curse.
Until our days, it does not exist any radical treatment to overcome the virus HIV (Human immunodeficiency virus infection).
Having therefore few checks on the development of this disease, during these different levels people who are suffering from HIV are called to compose, with the various threats so much at the level of their physical health as psychological.
In this context, this study has two basic objectives: (1) To identify the adjustment’s strategies the most generally mobilized facing a chronic pathology such as the AIDS and (2) To bring a better comprehension of the influence that can have the individual characteristics, such as the sex, in the choice of the adopted strategies.
20 seropositive patients of aged from 20 to 40 years old and sexually divided (men; women) were individually evaluated in a single meeting in the local of the Tunisian Association of Fights against the Sexually Transmitted Diseases and the AIDS, section Tunis.
Results confirm that centered coping on the problem is the adjustment strategy most mobilized with the people suffering from HIV with an equal average to 29.3, nearly followed by centered coping on the social support with a gap of 0,015, And at the end rediscover the centered coping on the emotion with an average equals to 29.15.
As for the variation of the choice of these strategies according to the sex, there is a significant difference between men and women and the choice of the strategy of mobilized adjustment.
Thus, men mobilize the COPING.
P while the women mobilize the COPING.S.S facing this disease.
For the COPING.E, absence of significant difference between the two groups.
Our results seem to support the idea that the people suffering from HIV, confronted to this event of chronic and threatening life, and mobilize their manner to compose according to the character of the position; the disease AIDS and of their individual characteristics; the sex.

Les Personnes Vivant avec le VIH sont appelées à composer, aux cours de ces différents stades, avec les diverses menaces tant au niveau de leur santé physique que psychologique.
Notre étude a deux objectifs fondamentaux : Identifier les stratégies les plus généralement mobilisées face à une pathologie chronique telle que le SIDA et Apporter une meilleure compréhension de l’influence que peuvent avoir les caractéristiques individuelles, telle que le sexe, dans le choix des stratégies adoptées.
20 patients séropositifs âgées de 20 à 40 ans et répartis selon le sexe ont été évalués individuellement en une seule séance dans les locaux de l’Association Tunisienne de Lutte contre les MST et le SIDA, section Tunis.
Les résultats montrent que le coping centré sur le problème est la stratégie d’ajustement la plus mobilisée chez les PVVIH avec une moyenne égal à 29,3, suivi de très prés par coping centré sur le soutien social avec un écart de 0.015, et enfin nous retrouvons le coping centré sur l’émotion avec une moyenne égale à 29,15.
Quant à la variation du choix de ces stratégies en fonction du sexe, il y a une différence significative concernant le choix de la stratégie d’ajustement mobilisée et le sexe (homme ; femme).
Ainsi, les hommes mobilisent d’avantage le COPING.P alors que les femmes mobilisent le COPING.S.S face à cette maladie.
