Abstract EN

The aim of studying the economical diversification is looking for the possibility of reducing the reliability of rentier states on their unique ressource.

this diversification requires the existence of material and human capabilities that enable the gradual transition.

In this study we aim to demonstrate to what extent the Algerian economy (which depends massively on hydrocarbons) is able to diversify its revenue sources.

in our study which is based on the assesment of economical diversification index of herfindal hirschmann in Algeria in the period (1980/2014), We found that the algerian economy is weak in terms of economical diversification, it is still dependant on fuels exportation.

As a conclusion the algerian economy can be diversified and has the potentials to do so if other alternatives are taken into cosideration such as Agriculture, petrochemistry, Tourism and productive industries.
