Abstract EN

This study aimed to reveal the role of the clinical psychologist specialist in the achievement of mental health in the punitive environment (correctional institutions of laghouat).

to achieve the objectives of the study, we used a set of tools such as: worksheet, to learn about the progress of the work of psychologist through the interview and observation on the prisoners, which were applied to fifteen psychologist across penal institutions mandate (laghouat and aflou), two approaches were used in the study : -the descriptive approach, to describe the work of a specialist and its role in achieving mental health)-the analytical approach, to analyse the worksheet, which aims to develop if there is a unified work and lined trends in the work of psychological practice in the punitive environment and the responsiveness with the prisoners.

the study resulted in the qualitative part, on the effective role of the psychologist in the achievement of mental health in the punitive environment, where: -clinical psychologist plays an important role in the punitive environment.
