Abstract EN

Crime reporting is among the key effective vehicles for the realization of security and prevention of crimes, particularly serious ones as corruption crimes.

Corruption posed a considerable challenge for governments and community worldwide, and so the international community paid particular attention to counter corruption and encourage reporting corruption cases.

International community has moreover established legal processes for the protection of those reporting corruption offences based on that they are governed by personal interests which they seek to protect, and that they may abstain from reporting such crimes for fear of reprisals by corrupt people or entities, given the power of the latter to silence whoever tries to report their crimes.

Therefore, absence of measures to protect corruption offences' whistleblowers may cause them to resort to silence and shun reporting.

The study sheds light on various legal protection tools for those reporting corruption offences.
