أثر المديونية الخارجية على معدل البطالة في الأردن : دراسة قياسية تحليلية للفترة (1991-2014)‎

Abstract EN

This study aims to examine the relationship between external debt and unemployment in jordan.

to this end the study analyzes the impact of the proportion of foreign debt to national income on the unemployment rates for the period (1991-2014).

the study concludes that there is a positive impact (statistically significant) of the proportion of external indebtedness of national income on unemployment as a part of the labor force.this means that statistical tests to the data of the last twenty-four years have proved that the external debt had negative consequences on the problem of unemployment in Jordan.

accordingly, the study suggests that here is a need to reduce external borrowing and to implement wise economic criteria in the selection of the new projects financed by borrowing, in order to reduce the economic problems of Jordan's economy, especially unemployment.
