Abstract EN

At the beginning of the French conquest of Algeria, the colonial administration established a relationship of alliance with some Algerian famous families to achieve the colonial objectives.

This article tries to shed light on the nature of this relationship and its developments.

Also the trick Policy pursued by the colonial power towards these families led to their revolution and migration of great numbers of them to Tunisia during the second half of the 19th century, to escape from harassment of the colonizer who avenged them by imposing harsh sanctions including: imprisonment, confiscation of property and exile.
