This work examines the evaluation of both the quantitative and qualitative dairy performance of Sicilo-Sarde ewes from dairy controls, and udder health from direct cellular screening by Individual Cell Count (CCI) and indirect testing by the Californian Mastitis Test (CMT).
This study focused on a sample of 48 sheep, representing about 15% of the total number of animals, in the UCPA Gnadil in the Beja region of northern Tunisia.
Ewes were milked twice daily by a mechanical pot machine.

The average of milk yield during a 175-day milking period was 133 ± 43 l after a lactation phase that lasted an average of 56 days (± 6.6).
At the end of lactation, exactly at the 25th and 29th weeks of lactation, the qualitative analyzes of the milk essentially revealed that the average values of the fat, protein, lactose and total dry extract were respectively 8, 5, 6.0, 4.6 and 19.9%.
The results of the CMT test recorded the occurrence of some cases of subclinical mastitis of the order of 3%, while the average CCI increased from 463400 cells / ml to reach 788100 cells / ml at the end of lactation

Ce travail examine l‘évaluation tant des performances laitières quantitatives et qualitatives des brebis Sicilo-Sarde à partir des contrôles laitiers, que de la santé des mamelles à partir des dépistages cellulaires directs par le Comptage Cellulaire Individuel (CCI) et indirects par le Californian Mastitis Test (CMT).
Cette étude a porté sur un échantillon de 48 brebis, représentant environ 15% de l‘effectif total, mis à la traite mécanique biquotidienne en pot au sein de l‘UCPA Gnadil dans la région de Béja au nord de la Tunisie.
La production laitière moyenne pendant une durée de traite de 175 jours est de 133±43 litres, après une phase d‘allaitement qui a duré en moyenne 56 jours (±6,6).
Vers la fin de la lactation, exactement aux 25ème et 29ème semaines de lactation, les analyses qualitatives du lait ont révélé essentiellement que les valeurs moyennes des taux butyreux et protéique, de la teneur en lactose et d‘extrait sec total sont respectivement de 8,5, 6,0, 4,6 et 19,9%.
Les résultats du test CMT enregistrés, ont repéré simplement l‘apparition de quelques cas de mammites subcliniques de l‘ordre de 3%, alors que la moyenne des CCI a augmenté de 463400 cell.
